For the first time since 1959, this year's Rockefeller Center tree comes from Massachusetts - West Stockbridge, to be exact. It was a donation from Michael Albert and his family, who are residents of the town. As of this morning (Nov. 12), the tree was set into position, where it will soon be decorated for the holiday season.

It will take 5 miles (about 8 kilometers) of light strands with more than 50,000 multicolored LED bulbs to wrap the tree, whose diameter measures 43 feet (13 meters). A Swarovski star crown sparkling with 3 million crystals will top it.
